From the curriculum vitae - Roses For Maya Deren series, 2005-2012. Pruett has been filming her short film series, Roses For Maya Deren, since 2005. This series references Deren while providing experiences for artists of all ages and experience levels, and individuals who have never previously participated in making art.

Roses For Maya Deren…. I began filming for it in 2005, with limited equipment at the time. I have filmed friends in it, professional actors, musicians, artists, and people I had never met before asking them to film with me. I am pleased to say that the films have begun to be edited and will begin entering festivals this year. Maya Deren is a filmmaker who inspired me, the first female director that I ever had knowledge of. These films encompass the personal, the universal, the derivative, dark sides, and lighter sides of human relationships. They have been filmed without words, and with words in Danish, Cherokee (Tsalagi), English, and Massai, with more languages to come.
